Dashboards are where data meets decisions, and where lineage usually stops. Solidatus opens up Tableau workbooks, maps datasources, views, worksheets and dashboards, and connects them to the databases behind them, so you can answer what feeds this number in seconds.
What it is
Lineage and metadata extraction from Tableau workbooks, either from an exported file or directly from a Tableau instance.
What Solidatus captures
Datasources, views, worksheets, workbooks and dashboards as objects, datasource connection metadata, the Tableau logical view structure, worksheet contents at a high level, and both column-level and workbook-level relationships.
What you need
- At a minimum, a .twb or .twbx workbook export and a 64-bit machine to run on. A .twb file is obtained by exporting a .twbx and extracting the .twb from inside it.
- To connect directly to a Tableau instance instead: the host URL, the site content URL, and a personal access token name and secret. The token needs Read and ExportXml permissions.
Good to know
One of our most heavily used connectors, running against current and recent Tableau workbook formats. Older embedded datasources are handled too, and if you use published datasources routed through sqlproxy, tell us during scoping and we will work through it with you.
