Solidatus Integrations and Solutions

What is a Solidatus Integration?

A Solidatus Integration enables Solidatus to ingest detailed information (metadata, lineage, transformations, etc) from external systems into structured models. Integrations connect to APIs of other tools or ingest files and load them via the extensive Solidatus REST API.  Solidatus Integrations scan external systems and extract deeper, richer lineage, structure, and metadata than typical software integrations, often providing you with detailed lineage not captured previously. If you can’t gather enough information at the right detail, you won’t get enough information to answer your business-critical questions.

What is a Solidatus Solution?

Solidatus Solutions exist to provide software, configuration, consulting, and expert services around complex integrations to enable support governance, compliance, and risk mitigation initiatives. Solidatus Solutions pair software, configuration, and expertise when integrations can have multiple strategies for integration for different use cases or requirements. Solidatus provides multiple options for integration, configuration, and consulting on technologies such as Mainframe applications, Purview Data Governance.

How does Solidatus work with Microsoft’s Data Fabric?

Solidatus integrates with Microsoft’s Data Fabric in multiple ways.

Solidatus’s partnership with Purview Data Governance provides a bi-directional integration to retrieve Metadata and Lineage from Fabric components.

Solidatus directly integrates with some Fabric components including PowerBI and databases including Azure SQL Database and OneLake.

How does Solidatus work with Microsoft Purview?

Solidatus was selected by Microsoft as its preferred partner for Microsoft Purview Data Governance solution from September 2024. Solidatus’ fine-grain data lineage and best in class visualizations, including the two-way integration into Microsoft Purview, is available on Microsoft Azure Marketplace. Solidatus’ connectivity and integration with Microsoft Purview offers businesses an extension of Microsoft’s oversight and governance of data capabilities.

Using the integration with Solidatus, companies can connect to, understand, trust and govern data – in both a full view and detailed granular basis. This data is the foundation of their business decisions, governance, transformation projects, AI and more. Solidatus does so through a visual map view of your data’s complete journey through all systems in your organization, connecting to both your Microsoft and non-Microsoft ecosystems:

  • From a visual map view of every system – beyond Azure and including legacy systems – not just a subset.
  • Go from a high-level macro view, right down to drilling deep into a column in a table – not just the table – and analyse any issues.
  • And to be able to look back and demonstrate how it was in the past, how you’ve solved it, which systems were affected – and how it might be once new systems are put in.

More FAQ Topics

Data Flows and Data Mapping

In data lineage, data mapping is the specific process of linking data fields from one data source to others.

Data Management

Data management is the process of collecting, keeping, and using data in a cost-effective, secure, and efficient manner

Data Mesh and Data Fabric

Data mesh is a methodology of managing data, whereby instead of one central data control unit or team, data management is decentralized in an organization

Data Migration

A data migration process involves selecting, preparing, extracting, and changing data in order to permanently move it from one software system to another

Data Risk Management

Data risks for AI relate to regulatory requirements, responsible AI use, and the ability for users to trust the outputs of AI models

Data Tracing

Data tracing refers to being able to trace back from a critical business use case, such as an annual report or compliance requirement, to see the source, journey and changes of data that impact these use cases.

Data Transformation

Data integration tools allow data to flow between different technologies. One of the problems of using a data integration tool is that it might not capture the data flow – and lineage or any transformation that is happening when data moves from one technology to another.

Metadata Management

Metadata management helps standardize a common language and description of data, using a set of policies, actions and software to gather, organize, and maintain it.

Types of Data Lineage

Column-level lineage is a form of lineage that goes to the level of detail of tracing the flow of data through your organization at the column level of a system – as opposed to only the table level.
