An Update on Some Recent Developments in our Latest Product Releases

Here at Solidatus, we’re experts in an advanced form of data lineage – one that enables businesses to see a full map off all their systems and the journey that data takes though them, to being able to drill down to a granular column level, to resolve issues in data. The journey extends from the source through many transformations, such as where calculations and formulas are applied, through to their use in fundamental business use cases – including annual reports, ESG reports, for business decisions, AI usage and more.
And as we’re experts and focused on continuing to innovate in advanced data lineage for business users, we are continually evolving our product offerings. Every few months, we release new features to our customers, that are focused on improving the power of lineage and its impact on businesses. The more we rely on digital technology, on AI, on cloud solutions, the more important the accuracy of data used and shared between solutions.

Not Tech for Tech’s Sake, but Technology that is Fundamental for the Business

Any small error in a piece of data anywhere in its complex journey – through multiple systems, with many calculations and formulas applied to it – can result in inaccurate representations of figures to shareholders, poorly judged business decisions, or faulty recommendations from AI. This inherent link between technology and business need for data lineage drives us forward to continue to improve the experience for businesses – and business users – to be able to easily and rapidly access the information that affects their day-to-day work and to quickly resolve any issues as soon as they arise.

Since version 6.0 we’ve been continually improving the ability for business users to search and find the information that they need. To be able to trace back to find the source of any issue, who has ownership and therefore to find a way to rapidly resolve it.

In version 6.0 we introduced domains, which are groups of lineage models and enable searches across multiple lineage models and systems – not just one. Or across a group of models that relate to specific uses and topics. Since the answer to a business question could lie across many systems.

Since 6.0 we’ve added search to the domain, so business users can quickly find the search bar – very similar to a google bar – search on whatever they want to in the domain, see who has ownership and click through to find the related map and systems so they can understand more.

In the recent 6.2 release for example, we’ve continued to enhance the ability for business users to get answers to the questions they need:

Making it easier for business users to narrow down their search results:

• Leverage more powerful query search functionality with a query helper to filter and find metadata or lineage with more complex conditions
• Filter search results by relationship enabling narrowing down results by business context or reference model relationship.
• View better search results with updated search logic to return improved search results including weighting entity name higher and displaying inherited or inferred relationships and hierarchies

Empowering business users to create reports by themselves, without the help of technical teams:

• Create their own analytics reports, querying and reporting on data across the entire data domain

• Lineage-powered refreshed look for physical data flows with their supporting glossaries, dictionaries and policies in one interface
• Interactive to allow users to jump from definitions & regulations to golden source visualizations in a few clicks
• Automatically constructed and refreshed from the lineage harvested via connectors

Search, Query & Analytics

• Domain query advanced retrieval and query of metadata and lineage including all assets contained in a Data Domain
• Domain analytics Enables business users to create their cross-model analytics reports for assets within the defined Data Domain
• Export and API for reports and underlying data used in the analytics reports can be exported
